Blondell Commons Project description
Scheduled to be completed in 2011 this mixed use building will redefine the area where it will stand.
Located in the Parkchester area of the Bronx and feet from the vibrant Westchester Square commercial area, the complex consists of 237,329 sqft of commercial, residential and community facility uses.
The building stands 135 feet to 12 stories. The first two levels above ground are dedicated to retail and commercial uses while the upper 10 stories will house 150 condominium apartments.
Along with the space above ground, the building also include a 500 commercial parking facility to act as a hub for newly proposed mass transit transportation in the vicinity to the building.
With all its windows scheduled to be transparent solar panels, all its roofs to be bio-roofs and the main source of conditioned air to come from a geothermal plant the project will be certified with the LEED certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
We are also planning additional eco-friendly elements such as sustainable site development, water savings, materials selection, eco-paints and indoor environmental quality controls.
The project will become one of the first true LEED certified buildings in the Bronx.
